Abstract:The tectonic location of Guettara manganese deposit in Algeria is located in a faulted basin near threenode of the collision suture lines of three ancient plates (ATLAS, ANTI ATLAS, SARLA) in northwest Africa. The overall direction is 300 ° along regional tectonic line. After geological exploration, 10 manganese ore bodies have been discovered. They all occur in Neoproterozoic volcanic sedimentary strata. The ore body is strictly controlled by stratigraphic position, and is roughly distributed in a monoclinic and parallel manner. It occurs in a layered-like, layered and lens like manner, and locally exposed on the surface. The ore body is distributed with the trend of NW—SE with a maximum extension of 475.00 m. The average grade of manganese deposit is 33.00%. It is a mediumsized manganese rich deposit with excellent ore quality and easy mining. Based on geological characteristics of Guettara manganese deposit, combining with comprehensive study and analysis of ore controlling factors, mineralization models and other factors, it is believed that the origin of the deposit is a marine sedimentary metamorphic manganese deposit. The discovery of this deposit has certain reference significance for searching for similar deposits.
