Abstract:Jin'guanchong uranium deposit in eastern Hu'nan province mainly occurs in the inner and outer contact zones of Yajiangqiao compound granite rock mass. It is mainly controllded by major faults with the trend of NNE—NE. The mineralization of this deposit is constrained by various geological factors. Studying controlling factors of the deposit and their inter relationships is of great significance for prospecting and prediction. Through detailed research on core samples and drilling data from the surrounding areas of Jin'guanchong uranium deposit, stratigraphic characteristics, structural characteristics, mineralization and alteration, ore body morphology, material sources and geochemical characteristics of the deposit have been analyzed. The various controlling factors of the deposit and their influence on uranium mineralization have been summarized, particularly the constraints on uranium mineralization in the deep and surrounding areas of the deposit. A uranium mineralization model has been proposed. Based on mineralization characteristics, favorable uranium mineralization zones in the area have been predicted. It is indicated that there is significant mineralization potential in Jin'guanchong deposit and its surrounding areas, and along both sides of F1 fault, especially in Gaofeng area and Dafuling area in the surrounding areas.
