Abstract:Through analysis and study on rock and mineral identification, characteristics of diamond indicator minerals and major elements, trace elements, and rare earth elements of basic—ultrabasic rocks in Zhangji area in Jiangsu province,iIt isindicated that the porphyries in this area originate from magmatic environments in the mantle or even deeper regions, and are located in a slow source area that has undergone metasomatism enrichment and can form diamond depths. During the evolution of porphyry magma, it has undergone a certain degree of crustal contamination and fractional crystallization. In the environment of rapid tension within the plate, as the host rock, porphyry magma intrudes diamonds along the weak structural zone into the shallow crust to form hidden explosions. The rocks that produce diamonds in Zhangji area are basic—ultrabasic porphyry rocks. It has which have further diamond exploration prospects.
