Abstract:In order to further curb global climate change, effectively reduce the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and successfully achieve the dual carbon goals, CCUS projects has been successively implemented and gradually promoted their application in China. In recent years, the Department of Natural Resources of Shandong Province has deployed and implemented six geological exploration projects for carbon sequestration research. As showed by the research results, Shandong province can be divided into four geological types of carbon sequestration, they are deep saline aquifers, depleted oil and gas reservoirs, unmineable coal seams and large salt caverns. The reservoir and cap rock conditions and suitability of different geological types have been identified,It is clarified that deep saline aquifers are main potential and development direction for carbon sequestration in the future. As showed by CCUS project of Qilu Petrochemical Shengli Oilfield, application of carbon dioxide flooding technology in Shandong province has become mature. The research on geological carbon sequestration geological exploration projects in Shandong province and the implementation of CCUS projects can provide geological theory and technical support for realizing "dual carbon goals" smoothly in Shandong province.
