Based on the investigation project of surface matrix layer in Zhangqiu—Zouping area in Shandong province, application effect of high density resistivity method in the investigation of surface matrix layer has been studied. The resistivity reflects different rules under different device conditions at the same point of the same section. Through comparative analysis with geological and drilling data, the feasibility of Wenner device and dipole-dipole device in the study of stratigraphic stratification by high-density electrical method has been expounded. It will provide technical support for the formulation of the investigation standard of surface matrix layer under the same geological conditions. Five high-density electrical survey lines have been completed, and the resistivity anomalies of shallow strata above 10m and 50m are proved by 2m polar distance and 5m polar distance respectively. The inversion has explained stratigraphic distribution and provided a basis for the division of surface matrix layers.
