Abstract:In geotechnical engineering investigation, it is necessary to timely and accurately identify the development of karst in limestone foundations. Traditional karst exploration methods, such as drilling and excavation are inefficient, poor representativeness and large randomness. It also will damage the integrity of the rock mass. High density electrical methods are high-precision and non-destructive detection techniques for studying karst development in limestone foundations. In this paper, selecting typical karst development blocks in Luozhuang district in Linyi city as the study area, 5 high-density electrical survey profiles have been constructed. The detection and application effects of this method in limestone karst development have been analyzed and studied. Combining with field exploration and drilling geological data excavation verification, it is showed that actual development of karst is highly consistent with the inferred results of high-density electrical survey. The application of high-density electrical survey is effective in investigating the development of limestone karst in the study area.
