Abstract:Based on grain size measurement of 116 surface sediments in Rizhao immediate offshore area in the southern Shandong Peninsula, the grain size characteristics of surface sediments in this area have been analyzed, and their environmental significance has been discussed. It is showed that main sediment types in the study area are sandy silty sand, which is the main sediment type in Rizhao immediate offshore area, followed by silty sand, which is distributed banded in the east side of sandy silty sand, sandy mud is distributed in patches in the south of the study area, and muddy sand is distributed sporadically in the study area. Sand has only one station in the northern Liangcheng estuary, and its distribution is basically consistent with hydrodynamic conditions, which is affected by the sediment sources, and the sedimentary dynamic environment is jointly controlled by the tidal current, the coastal current and the sediment sources. The sedimentary dynamics of the immediate offshore area mainly fall in the CⅢ and CⅣ zones. As the offshore distance increases, sedimentary dynamics transition to Zone B Ⅲ. Sedimentary dynamics will increase. It is significantly controlled by tidal currents.
