Abstract:During the late Cambrian, the north China platform is not only in a stable shallow sea cratonic environment, but also under the control of the low latitude equatorial hurricane zone. Storm action is frequent, and storm deposits and their development left rich records of storm deposits in the upper Cambrian strata of the area. Storm rocks are widely distributed in Chaomidian formation. According to the source of gravel and its sedimentary environment, gravel limestone (storm rocks) can be divided into in-situ gravel limestone and allochthonous gravel limestone. Based on the sedimentary characteristics of the storm in this area, the formation mechanism of the gravel limestone caused by the storm are divided into three types, they are storm upwelling reflux, storm overflow and storm vortex.
