Abstract:Tabutou rare earth deposit is a typical pegmatite type rare earth deposit in eastern Shandong province. Its mineralization is closely related to the structures and pegmatite unequal granites in Bijiashan unit in late Yanshan period. The metallogenic geological conditions of rare earth in Tabutou area are good, and the radioactive anomalies are prominent. There are 10 delineated radiological anomalies and 4 surface radiation comprehensive anomalies. Geochemical anomalies, such as La, Y, Th, Yb, Zr, Nb and Be, heavy sand anomalies, such as thoriite have been delineated. Seven orebodies have been found in Tabutou rare earth deposit. They are vein shaped and occur in granitic pegemite belt. The rare earth minerals are mainly epidote and bastenium lanthanide, followed by zircon, sphene and thoriite. Gangue minerals are plagioclase, potassium feldspar, quartz and biotite. Rare earth elements in the deposit are mainly light rare earth elements, such as Ce, La, Nd, Pr and Sm, while the contents of heavy rare earth elements are very low. Therefore, this deposit is a light rare earth deposit. The ore bodies are medium coarse grain pegmatite structures and massive structures. The industrial type of ore is pegmatite. Natural ore types can be divided into five categories and seven ore types. Rare earth elements in ores exist as oxides. This rare earth deposit has obvious prospecting sign and good prospecting prospect.
