Abstract:Jinqingding gold deposit in Rushan is a sulfide-quartz vein type gold deposit. It is rich in pyrite. Studying the characteristics of gold minerals in pyrite can provide theoretical support for gold exploration, processing and smelting of ore and the origin of the deposit. In this paper, the mineralogical characteristics, chemistry and occurrence of gold in pyrite of Jinqingding gold deposit have been studied by using the electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) with WDS and EDS, and the relationship between pyrite and gold has been discussed. It is showed that major gold minerals are natural gold and petzite, and a small amount of calaverite, which included in pyrite or inserted in the cracks of pyrite. The formation of gold minerals may be due to the supersaturation of gold in the ore-forming fluid system.
