Abstract:The coal-bearing area in southwestern Shandong province is an important coal production and storage area. It is also one of the areas where Paleozoic marine and continent interactive sedimentary rocks developed and preserved well . In this paper, taking Carboniferous-Permian marine and continent interactive sedimentary rocks as the research target, sedimentary environment, development characteristics , organic geochemical characteristics, petrophysical characteristics and gas-bearing characteristics have been analyzed and stuied. It is found that Shanxi formation and Taiyuan formation are the most developed horizon of marine and continent interactive sedimentary rocks in coal-bearing area in western Shandong province. The thickness of dark mud shale is 100~200m, the organic carbon content is 0.7%~3.5%, the potential hydrocarbon generation capacity is 0.5~6.0mg/g, type Ⅲ kerogen is main component, the vitrinite reflectance is 0.7%~2.0%, the brittle minerals are mainly 30%~60%, and the microfissure are developed. It belongs to the ultra-low—low shale gas layer porosity and the ultra-low shale gas layer air permeability. The dissolved gas volume of mud shale is 0.15~0.30m3/t, and the maximum adsorbed gas capacity is 2.33~2.88m3/t. It is considered that the shale in the coal-bearing area in southwestern Shandong province has the material basis for shale gas formation, evolution degree, reservoir space and fracturing brittleness conditions for shale gas formation.
