Abstract:Clay deposit in Majiazhuang area in Qingzhou city mainly occur in Dazhan formation in middle and upper Pleistocene and Holocene formation in Quaternary. The orebearing strata are distributed widely. The whole is slightly inclined from south to north and distributed in an equiaxed shape. Its thickness is closely related to the paleotopography. The thickness of the ore body in the paleotopography depression is large, while the uplift area is small. The average thickness is 12.61m and a thickness variation coefficient is 27.79%. According to differential thermal analysis, clay deposit is mainly composed of montmorillonite+hydromica+quartz. It belongs to continental facies eluvial deluvial mixed deposit, with eluvial facies in the lower part and deluvial facies in the middle and upper part. The average grade of the ore in the whole area is SiO2 67.61%, Fe2O3 5.35%, Al2O3 14.79%. The average value of silicic acid rate is n=3.37, and the average value of aluminic acid rate is p=2.77, which can be mined as clay raw materials for cement. For clay deposits in this area, predecessors have done a lot of exploration work, and the accumulated original geological data are very rich. In this paper, the ore bearing horizon and spatial variation characteristics of clay deposits in this area have been analyzed and summarized, and the origin and metallogenic geological characteristics of the deposit have been discussed. It will provide some references for clay prospecting in this area in the future.
