Abstract:Jiuxian area is located in the northwest of Dongping county and the northeast of Dongping Lake. There are concealed development of biotite granulite, plagioclastic amphibolite and banded magnetite amphibolite of Shancaoyu formation in Taishan group. They are orebearing layers of iron ore bodies. There are two fault structures with the trend of NNW, and the magmatic rocks are only distributed in Tiaohuayu unit in Neoarchean Aolaishan sequence and Tonghanzhuang unit in Mesozoic Yinan sequence. Jiuxian area is located in the north section of WenshangDongpingAcheng regional aeromagnetic survey belt with the trend of NW. The magnetic field contours in this area are relatively uniformly distributed with good regularity. The east, north, and west sides are low backgrounds, while the south part is relatively high. An elliptical anomaly with the trend of NW—SE has been circled, and two iron ore bodies have been circled as well. The ore bodies occur in layers in the middle and lower parts of Shancaoyu formation in Neoarchean Taishan group. They are sedimentary metamorphic iron deposits. The orehosting rocks are banded magnetite amphibolite and amphibolite magnetite quartzite. The long axis of the magnetic anomaly in the region is about 1200m, the short axis is about 640m, and the peak value of the anomaly is 800nT. The intensity and scale are relatively large, and the magnetic anomaly in the region is a mineralinduced anomaly.
