Abstract:Dingziwan area is not only one of the nine core areas of Shandong Peninsula blue economic division, but also the focus of Jiaodong economic circle integration construction with broad development prospects. In this paper, three TM images in 2005, 2010 and 2016 have been selected for remote sensing interpretation to study the characteristics and spatial distribution of land use change in Dingziwan area. It is showed that cultivated land is the main type of land use in Dingziwany area. From 2005 to 2016, the area of construction land and grassland have increased significantly, while the area of water area and sea area have decreased significantly. The transfer of land mainly occurs between "construction land and cultivated land, cultivated land and water area, cultivated salt field and sea area, grassland and cultivated salt field". The continuous development of urban and rural construction has also brought negative impacts on the ecological environment, such as coastal erosion and seawater intrusion. It is suggested that the eco-tourism economy with harmonious human and land environment should be developed after the coastal renovation and restoration work, such as "returning reclamation to sea, returning cultivation to beach, returning farmland to wet" in Wankou area.
