Abstract:Dongdingzhuang iron deposit is located in low magnetic anomaly area in the west of DongpingWenshang iron metallogenic belt. It is a newly discovered sedimentary metamorphic iron deposit in the area. Through high precision magnetic measurement with the scale of 1∶10000, three magnetic anomalies have been circled. By drilling verification, it is confirmed that two of them are caused by concealed magnetite bodies, and the ore bodies occur in Shancaoyu formation of Taishan group. Based on the study of geological characteristics of ore bodies and the characteristics of magnetic anomalies, and comparative analysis with the metallogenic conditions of regional iron deposits, it is concluded that the characteristics of the oreinduced magnetic anomalies in the area are generally relatively highvalue anomalies rising suddenly to hundreds of nates on the basis of gentle background field of tens of nates, with the characteristics of mutation. This kind of anomaly is generally NW trending, and is basically consistent with the trend of Dongping Wenshang iron metallogenic belt. Its shape is generally regular strip, ellipse or beaded. it is concluded that there are many low and slow magnetic anomalies with similar characteristics as those in the study area with favorable metallogenic stratigraphic conditions. Therefore, it is considered that there is a high prospecting potential and a good prospecting prospect in the area.
