Abstract:As the "Capital of Chinese Hot Springs", Jinan has abundant underground geothermal resources. In recent years, accompanying with extensive development and utilization of geothermal resources, it has produced good ecological and environmental benefits. In order to ascertain geothermal characteristics of carbonate thermal storage in northwest Jinan, geothermal geological surveys, geophysical prospecting, geothermal drilling, capacity testing, and sample testing and analysis have beem used to analyze geological characteristics, geothermal storage characteristics of carbonate thermal storage, geothermal field characteristics and hydrochemical characteristics. It is found that carbonate thermal reservoirs in the area are mainly Cambrian and Ordovician limestones. Thermal buried roof depths is 400~700m. A series of faults and fissures formed by magmatic rock intrusion and crustal movement in late Yanshan period communicate with deep heat sources, and provide space and channels for the enrichment and migration of geothermal water. Karst fissures in thermal reservoirs develops well, and the amount of water inflow from a single well can reach 2400~2640m3/d. The type of water chemistry is HCO3Ca·Mg and HCO3·SO4Ca·Mg type, with a salinity of 345.00~531.11mg/L, which belongs to fresh water. The water contains abundant trace elements which are beneficial to human health. The content of strontium reaches the standard of drinking natural mineral water can be named as strontiumcontaining natural drinking mineral water. Comprehensive development of geothermal water and mineral water will greatly increase the value of geothermal water utilization and provide a scientific basis for reasonable local planning and sustainable development.
