Abstract:Lufilian Arc tectonic belt in middle Africa is divided into five tectonic units from north to south: they are Katanga Aulacogen, External fold-thrust belt, Domes Region, Synclinorium belt and Katanga High. Kamatete iron deposit is in Synclinorium belt. According to the study of regional geological background, deposit geology, orebody characteristics and country rock of Kamatete iron deposit, it is regarded that the deposit is late magmatic injection-type (hypabyssal ore-magma type) deposit. The ore-magma is mainly consisted of iron-rich monzonite magma and rich iron gabbro magmatic differentiation, and a small amount of carbonatite magmatic differentiation.
