Abstract:Western Shandong Province is an important producing area of rare earth deposits. The genesis of rare earth deposits in western Shandong province is magmatic hydrothermal type related to alkaline rock carbonatite. There are Chishan rare earth deposit in Weishan, Guandimiao rare earth deposit in Xuecheng, Longbaoshan rare earth deposit in Lanling, Hujiazhuang rare earth deposit in Laiwu and Badou rare earth deposit in Zibo from south to north. In this paper, choosing Xishan rare earth deposit in Weishan and Hujiazhuang rare earth deposit in Laiwu as the typical rare earth deposits in western Shandong, geological characteristics and mineral characteristics of the typical deposits have been discussed. Starting from the metallogenic age and material source of the deposits, metallogenic elements have been summarized, metallogenic model has been established, and the genesis has been discussed. It will provide guidance for the exploration of rare earth deposit in western Shandong province.
