Abstract:The Dawenkou basin is rich in mineral resources with well-developed structures. The structures play an obvious role in controlling the deposits. In the past geological exploration, only rock salt deposits have been found in the east of the depression. It is conducted that the salt facies area of Dawenkou Basin is distributed in the east of the depression with the trend of NW—SE and showed as ellipsoid form. Yangjiapo mining section is located in Manzhuang-Daxiniu depression adjacent to the northeast side of the depression. In the geological exploration of this mining section, multi-layered rock salt industrial ore beds have been discovered for the first time. The true thickness of single layer is 0.84~5.09m, and the content of NaCl is 81.70%~97.14%. The thickness is relatively stable and the grade is relatively uniform. The discovery of rock salt deposits in this section extends the lithofacies area of the basin about 4 km to the northeast, and increases the salt-bearing area about 5km2. It is inferred that the salt facies distributes in the form of "curling pot", the pot distributes in the eastern depression, and the handle distributes in Manzhuang-Daxiniu depression. At the same time, a new recognition of the nature of F3 fault and its controlling effect on the lithofacies area has been gained.
