Abstract:As a common form of geological disasters, the collapse of dangerous rock mass poses a great threat to densely populated areas and engineering construction, so it needs to be reinforced or removed. Such geological disasters are mostly distributed in mountainous areas. Due to complex topography and dense vegetation, traditional measurement methods are timeconsuming, laborconsuming and data error is large. 3 d laser scanning technology is fast and the characteristics of noncontact, it can assist designers in the industry analysis to identify dangerous rock mass exist, as the basis of the dangerous rock mass stability analysis to provide accurate, diversified data, as the design scheme of quantities and the budget of the investment to provide accurate numerical calculation. In this paper, the operation method of 3d laser scanning and the whole process of assisting the removal design of dangerous rock mass are introduced with an engineering example, which will provide some references for similar projects in the future.
