Abstract:Taking the organic-enriched shale of transitional facies in the upper Paleozoic in Shandong province as the research object, the sedimentary environment, thickness and distribution of the shale, the type and content of organic matter, the evolution degree of organic matter have been analyzed. It is regarded that the development thickness of the shale in the Carboniferous-Permian Shanxi formation and Taiyuan formation is large and stable, and the type of organic matter is mainly Ⅲ type. The reflectivity of vitrinite is generally 0.7%~1.7% , and organic carbon content is generally 1.5%~9.0%, which is the main enrichment strata of shale gas. Regarding the gas content which is not less than 0.5m3/t, the reflectivity of vitrinite is not less than 0.5%, and organic carbon content is not less than 2.0% as the resource evaluation standard, the relationship model has been established between organic carbon content and gas content. It is estimated that the total potential geological resources of the shale gas in the upper Palaeozoic in Shandong province are 5736.75×108m3. The areas with exploration value are Luxinan coal-bearing area, Huanghebei coal-bearing area, Yanggu-Chiping coal-bearing area and Linqing depression. It has pointed out the direction of the next exploration of the upper Paleozoic shale gas in Shandong province.
