Abstract:Pingdu and Laixi are main areas of producing graphite ore in Shandong province. A large number of deposits with large scale and high quality have been found. In this paper, geological background of this area has been analyzed. Geological characteristics, such as shape, occurrence and ore quality of some large and medium size graphite deposits in Nanshu in Laixi city, Liugezhuang, LiuJiazhai, Liuhejia in Pingdu city have been summarized. Metallogenic geological conditions have been analyzed，and metallogenic regularity has been studied. It is regarded that graphite deposit in this area is formed by organic carbon in the strata in Xucun section in Douya formation of Paleoproterozoic Jingshan group after regional metamorphism. It is a kind of stratabound deposit. The ore controlling factors include strata, diagenesis, regional metamorphism and tectonics. Tielingzhuang and Yanzhuang prospecting target areas have been circled.
