Abstract:Accompanying with dividing international Permian into three series, as the needs of further exploration of coal resource in southwestern Shandong province, the correlation between the internal stratigraphy characteristics and the characteristics of the coal accumulation should be defined. Through drilling cores analysis, combining with drilling data, by using the principle of the sequence stratigraphy, setting Pengzhuang coal mine in Shandong province as an example, Carboniferous and Permian sequence stratigraphy has been studied, and the characteristics of the coal accumulation have been analyzed. Two types sepuence boundries have been determined. Carboniferous and Permian strata in this area have been divided into three third-order sequences. S1 is equivalent to the upper part of Taiyuan formation, S2 is equivalent to Shanxi formation, and S3 is equivalent to the lower part of Shihezi group. S1 is mainly shallow lacustrine-swamp and tidal-flat facies with poor sources. S2 is mainly composed of stream channel facies, peat swamp facies, mouth bar facies in the lower delta plain facies with rich sources. The coal accumulation occurred mainly in the early transgression. It will be better in the last transgression. S3 is mainly the upper delta plain facies and no coal bed.
