Maerkuang gold deposit locates in Huilongkuang unit of Qixia sequence. Its lithology is mainly tonalite gneiss. Veins in the ore area are obviously controlled by fault structures, and occurred in groups. The intersection part of regional fault structures and Houkuang dome and occurrence changing parts of fault structures are favorable areas of ore enrichment. Fauls with the trend of NE, Archean intrusive rocks and quartz veins are main controlling factors of gold mineralization. Quartz veins are main symbols for ore prospecting. This deposit belongs to medium and low temperature thermal quartz vein type.
