Abstract:Cd is a non essential trace element for animals and plants, and the serious pollution of Cd will do great harms to human health. Through study on geochemical anomaly distribution of Cd in stream sediments and soil samples in northern Susong county in Anhui province, it is found that natural and anthropogenic source are two ways for the formation of Cd anomaly. In our work area, the distribution of siliceous rocks is the natural source of Cd anomaly, although human activity has a certain effect on the distribution of Cd anomaly, the scope and the impact intent are limited. However, the content of Cd in soil and stream sediment is significantly affected by mining activities. The content of Cd in mining area and nearby samples is much higher than that in general areas, thus main distribution area of Cd anomaly has been formed.
