Abstract:Wutu oil shale is widely distributed in B section, C section and D section of Lijiaya formation. C section is its main body. Its proven reserve is 272 million tons. It is the associated minerals of lignite. Shale layer in C section is thick with high dense. There are shale layers in upper part of D section, but the thickness is small. Tar yield in shale can reach 16.25%, the lowest rate is 5.43%, and average yield is 8.36%. The highest benchmark calorific value is 8.72MJ/kg, the minimum value is 6.16 MJ/kg, and average value is 6.91MJ/kg. As a solid fuel, oil shale is alternative energy sources of gasoline. There is a broad prospect of development and utilization of shale resource in Wutu coalfield.
