Mesoproterozoic—Neoproterozoic black rock series developed well in central areas of Inner Mongolia. They were formed in Zhaertai-Baiyune'bo rift trough and named as Zhaertai groups and Bayune'bo group. Currently, a number of native gold deposits are discovered and explored only in the black rock series in Bayune'bo group. Main types of ores are veinlet type and altered metamorphic type. Gold deposits are controlled by layers and tectonic fracture zones with low average grade. They can form large or very large type deposits. Thus, there are large gold resource potentiality and prospecting future in Mesoproterozoic—Neoproterozoic black rock series in central areas in Inner Mongolia.
