Abstract:As ornamental stones treasures, "Jinqian stone" has been enjoyed by many people. Its natural type is ultrabasic rocks (ultramafic rocks), dark color, density, and rich in mafic minerals. Main compositions of minerals are olivine, pyroxene and little hornblende. Rocks are formed by the products of mantlederived magma upwelling along the tectonic fissures and expansion and filling products in ancient weak belts. Its exquisite patterns have close relation with magma crystallization fractionation and late metamorphism.
