Abstract:Groundwater is the main water source for social and economic development and human life. Thus, safety evaluation of water sources is very important. DRASTIC model is a successful assessment method in the world. This model takes into account various factors about vulnerability of water source, however, as the different hydrogeological conditions and study degree, the result is often incompatible with the actual situation, so different factors should be chosen to evaluate in different regions. On the basis of the investigation and safety evaluation on drinking water program in major cities in Shandong province, by using DRASTIC model, the safety of water sources in major cities in Shandong province have been evaluated, and the result is consistent with the actual situation.
