DISCOVERY OF THE CATHAYSIOPTERIS WHITEI IN THE SHANXI FORMATION AND ITS STRATIGRAPSHIC SIGNIFICANCE

Cathaysiopteris whitei首次在我省山西组中发现,它为研究该植物的地史分布和进行地层划分提供了充分的依据。Cathaysiopteris whitei开始出现于山西组,繁盛于下石盒子组,以前文献中它仅见于下石盒子组的结论需要加以修改,但它仍然是下石盒子组植物组合中的代表性分子。

Abstract:

The Cathaysiopteris whitei is for the first time discovered in the Shanxi Formation in Shandofig, which provides sufficient materials for the studies of its distribution in the geological history and the stratigraphic subdivision. The Cathaysiopteris whitei appeared initially in the Shanxi Formation and flourished in the lower Shihezi Formation.
