The Xintai--Duozhuang fault lies in the central part of Shandong Province. The fault trends in the northwest direction and has controlled the evolution of the Mengyin Basin, This paper discusses the characteristics of the Xintai--Duozhuang fault in terms of its activities since the Mesozoic ere on the basis of its structural features, regional stress field as well as the strata.1.
