Abstract:The Present paper deals with the spores and pollen obtained from the Guanzhuang Formation of the Lower Tertiary in the Tailai Basin, Shandong. Two palynological assemblages can be recognized in ascending order as follows:1. "Triporopollenites"—Rhoipites assemblage from the lower part of the second member of the Guanzhuang Formation (early Eocene).2. Quereoidites—Pinaceae assemblage from the upper part of the second and third members of the Guanzhuang Formation (middle-late Eocene).
