Abstract:

The brecciated Danyashan Quartzite which intercalates some of the brecciated slate in the Penglai region, Shandong Province belongs to the Fuzikuang formation of the Penglai series of the Proterozoic era. The origin and the characteristics of the breeciated quartzite are described. The author suggests that the brecciated quartzite belongs to the cryptoexplosion breccia which was related to the eruption of basalt during the Tertiary period and is neither sedimentary and syngenetic conglomerate, nor tectonic ...
