EVOLUTION OF DEEP STRUCTURES AND SUPERSTRUCTURES IN THE JIAO—LAI DEPRESSION AND ITS SURROUNDING AREA IN SHANDONG

Abstract:

In this paper the regional gravitational and magnetic fields in the Jiao-Lai Depression and its surrounding area are discussed and explained in terms of the plate-tectonics by analyzing the gravitational and magnetic data ayailable. A preliminary view on the mechanism of the formation of the JiaoLai Depression and the evolution of the deep structures and superstructures in the region is thus proposed; and a model of upwelling of the Conrad discontinuity-basalt layer has been developed for discussion.
